Banging my head against a wall

This is a butterfly I had not seen before on the wall of our North Yorkshire bungalow. It makes a change from the cabbage whites, peacocks, tortoiseshells and red admirals that are common each summer.

Can anyone confirm what it is?

My guess is that it is a Wall Brown.

I’ll bet the crane fly outside my study window would know.
